Home > Two Wheelers

Two wheelers are convenient motorized transport vehicles. These, as the name suggests, run on two wheels with a compact engine propelling the rearwheel. The two-wheeler is all encompassing term for scooters, motorcycles, bicycles and others.
Two Wheelers
However, in automotive terms, the scooter and the motorcycle are the pre-dominant market leaders. Both of them are off-shoots of the Reitwagen, which was a motorizedbicycle, invented in 1885 by Daimler and Maybach. The striking differencebetween a motorcycle and a scooter is the way the rider gets on the vehicle and sits.

The scooter allows the rider to step through the frame and sit with the feet on a platform in the middle. Whereas in the motor cycle the rider has to throw over one leg above the frame and sit with each leg on either side of the frame.

Why Are They Popular ?

The two wheeler is a very dependable personal transport vehicle. Due to their slim profile and light weight, they are easy to maneuver in heavy traffic, and can bypass jammed sections of the road with ease. The two wheeler is also light on the pocket. The cost of ownership of a such a automobile is low to begin with, and further the spare parts and maintenance also do not put a burden on the user. However, one of the deciding factor for many Indians is their fuel economy. With rising petrol prices, you can still depend on the ubiquitous two wheeler to get you to your destination with the least expense on gasoline. This has exalted the two wheeler as the most popular form of personal transport in both rural and urban areas.

Need For Speed

One might have the opinion that a two wheeler cannot match the performance of a car, which is true to an extent. But, recent technological developments andcreation of market segment for high performance vehicles have resulted in the popularity of the powerful motorcycles. Motorcycles with engine capacities ranging from 250 cc to 1000 cc can be easily seen on the roads. They have the same ride Two Wheelerscomfort as other two-wheelers but in addition have superb acceleration and top-speed. Some of motorcycles made by Ducati, Agusta, etc reach speeds up to 320 km/h and are known as 'Super-bikes'.

Two Wheeler Parts

The success of the two-wheelers can largely be attributed to the excellent yet simple engineering of components. A two wheeler has many such components, which are inexpensive, efficient and long-lasting. Some of the widely bought components include brake parts, gear parts, meter parts, engine parts, exhaust parts and more.
